Lost and Found

“Lost and Found”, explores self-discovery and escaping the confines of external pressures through a fashion narrative of three composite images. This series encourages the audience to re-examine their notions of being lost or found, and what that looks like to them. Each image portrays a crucial part of the subject's journey toward personal autonomy and liberation. It’s often necessary to distance ourselves from the influence of other’s opinions to gain insight into our own needs.

Despite societal progress, the innate desire to belong and conform remains a persistent aspect of human experience. The shift in attire from feminine to masculine, as well as the change in colors, is another way to express autonomy and acceptance. This narrative is personal to me as a queer nonbinary individual who often feels the weight of societal expectations and stereotypes of how I should dress, look, and act. True liberation often arises from the courage to stray from the beaten path and embrace self-exploration.
